Annelie Dehmel, the founder of the project, acquired 30 hectares of stony mountain slopes in the high valley of Cajamarca 30 years ago with own financial and friend funds. Of this she donated about 80% to the youngest girls of the surrounding farming families. The only condition: the afforestation, for 20 years on the given land. The farmers and their families in this region gradually became forest farmers with their own tree nurseries and independent timber industry.
